The Time Terrence Boyd Celebrated Like Wrestling Star Randy Orton

Daniel Frahn and Terrence Boyd paid tribute to the WWE Champion

He was the first US-born player at RB Leipzig, and beside his love for scoring goals, there's another passion of his: wrestling!

Terrence Boyd played for three years as a Red Bull, between 2014 and 2017. Clearly he was a big fan from wrestling star, Randy Orton

Almost 10 years ago, on October 24, 2014, Terrence and his teammate Daniel Frahn gave German football a unique celebration during a home match at the Red Bull Arena.

It's RKO-Time!

Randy Orton as a role model

It was the 33rd minute of play when RBL striker Daniel Frahn scored the 2-0 goal against VfL Bochum. After finding the back of the net, our scorer ran towards the RB Leipzig bench to meet up with his buddy, Terrence Boyd.

They both sprinted and struck the world-renowned Randy Orton "RKO - outta nowhere" pose. All those present in the arena roared and saw how our team celebrated as one.

Alexander Zorniger, then RBL's manager, seemed surprised by the celebration: "I had not seen something like it before. I thought that Terrence had slipped. Whenever there's some nonsense going one, Terrence is somehow always involved." With a grin on his face he added: "As long as he doesn't get injured, he should have his fun. He just has to be careful."

Fun for everybody

Daniel Frahn, who appears to have landed rather hard on his back from his RKO celebration, gave us more insight after the match: "We had rehearsed previously. Terrence posted a wrestling video this week, we saw it together... Only something as crazy as that could be done by Terrence. I would have injured someone else doing that. He's the only one capable of it."

Even 10 years after and we still can't stop recalling one of the most special RB Leipzig moments!
