"A fair draw in the end" | Quotes on the game

After the 1-1 draw against Bremen, RBL coach Marco Rose as well as Willi Orban, Amadou Haidara and Rouven Schröder had their say

All quotes after the 1-1 draw against Werder Bremen.

Marco Rose

  • "While Bremen were close to their best in the first half, we were far away. Despite the system change and despite some failures, I would have expected more energy from us. We didn't allow a lot, but we didn't allow enough with the ball. So we deserved to be 1-0 down. The good thing about my team is that they react to situations like this. It's a bit like the entire season: we deal well with pressure that we bring upon ourselves. In the end it was a fair draw.

"We still have one game left in Frankfurt. We have another chance to create a better atmosphere in the dressing room."

The press conference after #RBLSVW

Willi Orban

  • "We would have liked to give the fans another home win, but we weren't active enough in the first half. We were a bit too passive. At half-time we said that we needed to go into the game with a bit more emotion. We implemented that well too. Unfortunately, in the end it wasn't enough to completely turn the game around.

"Overall it was a decent season. We were particularly strong at home. We now want to secure fourth place with a win in Frankfurt."

Amadou Haidara

  • "The first half was difficult, Bremen played well. We did well in the second half. We were compact in defence and won the ball early. We wanted to win, but unfortunately it only ended in a 1-1 draw. Next week we have to give it our all and win again.

"It's a shame that Xaver Schlager is out. He's an important player for us and our system. Nevertheless, the rest of us have to be a team when we're on the pitch. I've been here for a long time and know the club and the style of play. It's my job to tell those next to me when they have to press and where they have to run."

RBL bid farewell to a sold out crowd

Rouven Schröder

  • "The bottom line is that we're happy that we qualified for the Champions League, but the draw does annoy us. The first half was a little too pedestrian, a little too slow. In the second half there was a jolt through the team and then it was a completely different game. We wanted to secure fourth place, but that didn't work. So it was annoying."
