EA FC Pro: The ultimate guide to the eFootball world cup 2024

Explaining the eFootball World Cup: The Guide to EA FC Pro.

Our professionals RBLZ_Umut, RBLZ_Vejrgang & Co. not only compete nationally in the Virtual Federal League for titles for RBLZ Gaming. Internationally, they challenge the best EA FC 24 players in the world. In 2022, Umut won the individual World Cup in London, followed by the Club World Cup victory for RBLZ in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2023.

But how does the World Cup in FC 24, organised by publisher EA SPORTS, actually work? In this guide, we explain everything about the World Cup format in eFootball – which has evolved steadily over the past years and has been renamed EA FC Pro since 2023.

RBLZ Gaming

The RBLZ team has already won several national and international titles in eSports.

Ecosystem structure

The times of the FIFA Interactive World Cup and FIFAe World Cup – that's what the World Cup used to be called – are over. In 2023, EA Sports extensively changed the structure of the eFootball World Cup and created a completely new ecosystem with FC Pro. Various qualification paths spread throughout the entire season culminate in the FC Pro World Championship. In the summer of 2024, the best 32 FC professionals in the world will compete for the World Cup title.

In total, 28 of these 32 spots will be awarded through national eFootball leagues – such as the Virtual Federal League, eLaLiga, ePremier League, etc. In Germany, the champion and finalist in the VBL Grand Final qualify for the FC Pro World Championship.

So, it's an additional incentive for our RBLZ to aim for the next title in the national eFootball competition. The remaining four of the 32 tickets for the summer's World Cup final will be determined through the FC Pro Open. Anyone can participate in the FC Pro Open – including players who are not active in the national eFootball leagues.

How the FC Pro Open works

Regional qualification tournaments

So, 28 out of the 32 final spots go to the best players in the national leagues. But how can one secure the coveted four other tickets to the Pro Open? In the first step, regional qualification tournaments are held worldwide, involving tens of thousands of players. The top 52 players in total, including the top 24 from Europe, twelve players from Latin America, and the top 4 from North America, among others, qualify for the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier.

FC Pro Open Global Qualifier

At the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier in London, the overall 64-player field is completed by twelve invited FC 24 professionals. The Global Qualifier spans three days. At the end, the top 16 achieve the ultimate goal – participation in the FC Pro Open.

FC Pro Open

Now the main event begins. At the FC Pro Open, 20 players compete for a spot in the Open Final, where the four tickets to the FC Pro World Championship will be contested later. In addition to the 16 qualifiers from the Global Qualifier, four seeded professionals join in this phase. These players have received direct participation in the FC Pro Open from EA SPORTS as a reward for their strong performances at the FIFAe World Cup in the FIFA 23 season, even before the qualification began.

All matches of the FC Pro Open take place in London. For eight weeks, the English capital is abuzz – divided into two four-week periods before and after Christmas. The main event of the FC Pro Open concludes at the end of January 2024. The top two players from each of the four groups advance to the grand final. This results in a field of eight players, all vying for their chance at the FC Pro World Championship.

FC Pro Open Finals

Now it's all on the line. The top 8 players of the FC Pro Open season compete on February 3, 2024, for qualification to the FC Pro World Championship. In a direct knockout phase, the first FC Pro Open champion in history will be determined. The top 4 not only participates in the World Cup final in the summer but also secures direct qualification for the FC Pro Open Main Event in the upcoming season.
