Lukas Klostermann speaks to the press after the defeat at VfB Stuttgart.

“Far too sloppy”

Marco Rose, Rouven Schröder, Lukas Klostermann and Benjamin Henrichs discuss RB Leipzig’s defeat at VfB Stuttgart

All the post-match reaction from our game at VfB Stuttgart.

An der Seitenlinie in Stuttgart: Marco Rose.

Marco Rose

  • "This was exactly what we didn’t want to happen. The results from the last few weeks have their left their mark on the team.

We made too many mistakes right from the start of the game. We weren’t good enough in possession and couldn’t control the match at all.

Stuttgart ultimately deserved to win. We now have to work hard in order to improve things as quickly as possible.”

  • "We simply didn’t play well today, both in and out of possession. We were too sloppy and not decisive enough in defence. We wanted to put in a better performance in the second half, but weren’t able to do so.

We need to start picking up points again as soon as possible. Having said that, we didn’t deserve any today. Stuttgart were clearly the better team, we have to be honest about that. We’ll go again next weekend.”
Benjamin Henrichs nach dem Spiel im Interview auf Sky.

Benjamin Henrichs

  • "We reacted well to going 2-0 down, however they quickly scored again in the second half. Their goals came far too easily. We also struggled to create chances today, we weren’t creative enough

We have lost two big games now against Leverkusen and Stuttgart. We are currently playing below our own expectations. We did play well against Frankfurt and Leverkusen, but it wasn’t enough in the end. Something has to change quickly.”
Sportdirektor Rouven Schröder sprach von einer "völlig verdienten Niederlage."

Rouven Schröder

  • "We fully deserved to lose and never performed to our best. We played poorly as a team, that has to be said. Even when we got back in the game, we simply conceded straight away again. It wasn’t good enough today. It’s a painful defeat.

Everybody is aware that we didn’t play well enough. We need to closely look at what went wrong. It’s important now that we analyse things in great detail.

We’re all self-critical enough. We now have to work hard and make sure we play better against Union Berlin next week. Everybody will have to play their part in getting us back on track.”
