All-square in matchday 6's Topspiel!

RB Leipzig battled to a 2-2 draw with FC Bayern München in Saturday night's Bundesliga blockbuster.

It was a shaky start for Marco Rose's men, with Jamal Musiala played in behind a switched-off backline from a quickly taken free-kick and given a golden opportunity to open the scoring after just three minutes. However, Janis Blaswich was switched on and made himself big to keep the scores level. It was the last action for our goalkeeper in the first half too, as RBL soon took command and the lead. A perfectly timed through-ball from Xaver Schlager found the run of Loïs Openda, and he held off Min-jae Kim to make it 1-0 in the 20th minute.

Six minutes later, Sven Ulreich's missed punch from a corner opened the door for Castello Jr. to slam the loose ball home for his first goal in RBL colours. The hosts continued to stay compact and give a determined Bayern side no time on the ball for the remainder of the first half, with only a half chance for Leroy Sané shortly before the break behind fired comfortably over the target.

Die Roten Bullen started the second half with no less intensity than they ended the first, but Bayern certainly stepped up the pressure. It was a stroke of bad fortune that allowed the Munich outfit back into the game though, after Sané's free-kick struck Benny Henrichs' arm in the wall and a penalty was given. Harry Kane duly stepped up and converted to reduce the lead to 2-1 (57'). Thomas Tuchel's side were in the ascendency now and the equaliser followed after 70 minutes. A Leipzig corner led to a counterattack led by Jamal Musiala, and he moved the ball on for Sané to finish one-on-one past Blaswich. Both sides weren't settling for a point, although it was RBL who came closest to the winner in the fifth minute of stoppage time. Xavi's perfect pass to Benjamin Šeško meant he only had the on-rushing Ulreich to but, but the Bayern goalkeeper made a crucial challenge to ensure the game finished 2-2.

3rd minute: Early chance for Bayern

Harry Kane finds Jamal Musiala with a quickly-taken free kick in midfield, but Janis Blaswich is able to deny the attacker on the 1v1.

12th minute: Forsberg with a shot from range

Leipzig pounce on a mistake from Bayern goalkeeper Sven Ulreich. He comes out of his box to cut off a long ball before it can reach Xavi, but misplays his pass. Emil Forsberg is able to intercept it and attempts a shot from 40 metres out, but his effort only narrowly misses the open goal.

20th minute: Openda opens the scoring!

We take the lead!  Xaver Schlager picks out Lois Openda from a throw-in, as the striker uses his pace to break past Kim. His shot takes a slight deflection off the Bayern centre-back and lands in the back of the net

26th minute: Castello Jr. doubles our advantage from a corner

2-0 for Leipzig! Ulreich misjudges the corner and is unable to punch it away. In the midst of a goal-mouth scramble, Castello Jr. manages to score his first ever goal for RBL!

36th minute: Leipzig remain compact

The visitors may be enjoying the bulk of possession, but our boys are remaining compact and disciplined in defence. RBL are marking Bayern closely, keeping them from getting close to goal. A very solid defensive performance so far!

45th minute: Sané looks to threaten

Bayern come close just before the half-time break. Leroy Sané makes a run down the right wing and links up with Konrad Laimer, before attempting to curl one in from in front of the box. His shot goes wide of the target

52nd minute: RBL in control

Head coach Marco Rose’s side remain in control after the break, working hard to keep Bayern from getting close to goal.

56th minute: Bayern score from the spot

Sané’s free-kick from just outside the box strikes Benny Henrichs arm as he leaps up to block the shot with the rest of the wall. After consulting with VAR, the referee points to the spot. Blaswich guesses correctly, but Kane’s shot manages to slip past him to put Bayern back in the game.

60th minute: narrow miss from Guerreiro

Substitute Raphael Guerreiro’s shot from outside the box whistles just wide of the post. Bayern are pressing hard in search of an equaliser!

67th minute: Tel tests blaswich

The record champions are pressing us hard and restricting us to our own half. Mathys Tel is able to get a shot off, but it’s easily caught by Janis

70th minute: Sané equalises for FCB

We give up possession on the edge of Bayern’s box, as the visitors switch over quickly to counter through Musiala and Sané. The winger is through on goal and places a shot past Blaswich and into the bottom left corner to equalise for Bayern.

82nd minute: Leipzig break the press

Our team do well to break free of Bayern’s press and manage to put together a series of passes in our opponent’s half. There’s still time to net a winner!

95th minute: Ulreich denies Šeško

Ulreich comes storming out of his goal to cut off a long ball meant for Benjamin Šeško. Our striker would have been through on goal otherwise.
