The Trade Fair City is ready!

The 17th European Football Championships began with the opening match between Germany and Scotland in Munich.

As one of ten host cities, Leipzig welcomes all football fans. And they can look forward to a varied program over the next four weeks. Everything is set for a huge European Championship party. 51 games of live football!

From Augustusplatz to the city beach – we tell you what’s happening where and which spots you absolutely shouldn’t miss!
 

From the Gewandhaus to the Opera: View of the Fan Zone at Augustusplatz.

Fan Zone at Augustusplatz

  • The number one place for all fans! The Fan Zone is located on Augustusplatz in downtown Leipzig, directly from the Gewandhaus to the opera. Up to 15,000 people can sing, cheer and get excited together from game one to the grand finale on July 14th at the public viewing on two screens measuring 84 and 21 square meters.

    In addition, a varied program of stage entertainment and live music (including Clueso, Die Prinzen) rounds off the Leipzig Fan Zone. Admission is from 1 p.m. on match days. Admission is free. 

    Important: If the temperatures soar and it gets particularly hot, there are two fountains available for fresh and free drinking water. Even for dogs! One is in the middle of the fan mile, the second is in front of the “Vapiano” restaurant.
     
All 51 European Championship matches will be broadcast live on two giant screens at Augustusplatz.

Fan march from Richard-Wagner-Platz

  • There is also a EURO drinking fountain at Richard Wagner Square. From there, the fans who have travelled with the team, including from Portugal, Croatia, France and the Netherlands, will walk separately along a set route to the Red Bull Arena. 40,000 fans from Holland alone are expected to take part in the fan march.

     

Four public viewings at Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz

  • For the four games taking place in Leipzig, there is also the option of public viewing for up to 14,000 people at Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz. Catering will of course be provided.

Celebrate with the DFB team in the Parkschloss

  • At least the three group matches of the German national team led by national coach Julian Nagelsmann will also be broadcast on a large LED screen at the Parkschloss during public viewing. The two round of 16 matches on June 29 and 30 will also be shown.

     

“Stadium of Dreams” at the Leipzig Zoo

  • The "Stadium of Dreams" will be in the concert garden of Leipzig Zoo until July 7th, with sports, stage programs, panel discussions and exhibitions for all ages. In addition, all three preliminary round matches of the DFB team and all matches in Leipzig will be broadcast live. Thanks to a large tent, you are also protected from the rain.

City Beach Leipzig

  • Anyone who wants to get a holiday feeling while enjoying a cool drink on the sand can do so at Leipzig's city beach. All Germany games, every match in Leipzig and all knockout matches are shown on several screens. All other games can be seen on one screen.

     

Moritz Bastion

  • The 'Moritzbastei' is also a popular venue. Selected European Championship matches are shown, including all of the DFB team's preliminary round matches. There are three screens and four additional TV sets in use.

     

Leipzig's trendy districts

  • There is also a lot going on in Leipzig's popular pub district. From the city center around the market square, to Gottschedstrasse, Karl-Liebknecht-Strasse and Karl-Heine-Strasse: selected bars, restaurants and pubs are also broadcasting UEFA Euro 2024.
