Christoph Baumgartner's season in stats

Christoph Baumgartner on...

... the game at Eintracht Frankfurt

  • "This is the Bundesliga. Games in the Bundesliga are always fun. There's always a special atmosphere in Frankfurt. We're really excited about this game at the end of the season and of course we want to win."

... Coming fourth

  • "After 34 matchdays, every team is roughly where they should be based on their performance. Sure, we had more potential in one or two games, but it's not a given that as a club we qualify for the Champions League year after year. We've now succeeded for the sixth time in a row. That's why we can look forward to a decent season.

"Nevertheless, everyone knows that titles have been won here in recent years. That's what you play football for, winning titles is the most fun. We'll attack again next season and will try to do a little better."

Christoph Baumgartner on...

... his first season with Leipzig

  • "I'm very ambitious and set high standards for myself. That's why it's no secret that not everything turned out exactly as I imagined. I knew from the start that I was coming to a big club with players at the highest level.

"There were good phases this season. It is important to build on this. I've now really arrived and feel very comfortable in the club and in the city. When you move to a new club, it often takes a while until you internalise the new procedures. I'll really attack next season."

... UEFA Euro 2024

  • "I'm really looking forward to the tournament in Germany. Of course it's very bitter that we will be missing a very important player, including Xaver Schlager, who's injured. Nevertheless, we have a good team. We showed that we can disrupt the big nations - we also proved that against Germany."

We are Leipzig!
