3-0 defeat away to Gladbach
Two goals from Jonas Hofmann and one for Ramy Bensebaini for the Foals | Leipzig’s mistakes punished | Lack of intensity in the RBL game
RB Leipzig were beaten 3-0 away to Borussia Mönchengladbach on matchday 7. The hosts punished Leipzig’s mistakes and were clinical in front of goal.
Despite a decent start by RBL, Gladbach took the lead after 11 minutes. Jonas Hofmann smashed home after Péter Gulácsi could only parry Marcus Thuram’s header. We were well in the game and searching for an equaliser before David Raum lost the ball on the halfway line and Borussia initiated a perfect counter-attack. Thuram played in Hofmann and he got his second of the night (35’).
Leipzig had decent chances at the start of the second half through Silva and Dominik Szoboszlai, however the home team killed the game off effectively when Ramy Bensebaini dinked a shot over Gulácsi (53’). Our side continued to fight, but couldn’t get a goal back and Gladbach even had a few chances to score again from more counter-attacks.

Our number 19 is involved again. His looping header is touched over the bar by Sommer and we get our first corner.
