"We’re really grateful for Yussi's performance"
Head coach Jesse Marsch, Yussuf Poulsen and Emil Forsberg react to RB Leipzig's 4-1 victory over SpVgg Greuther Fürth
Jesse Marsch:
- "We were relaxed at half time and told the players that we have to make fewer mistakes and win more duels. It's important that we learn from the first half, but above all that we talk about our response in the second half. The substitutes played really well. Yussuf Poulsen turned the game around alone. He was absolutely ready and we’re really grateful for his performance.
In the future we have to play with more clarity in possession and show our quality from the start in our home games.."
Yussuf Poulsen:
- "Fürth played well in the first half. They won a lot of duels. Then we brought more intensity to our game in the second half. We turned the game in our favour, played the football that we wanted and scored four nice goals.
I simply play my game and try to do everything I can. I want to carry the boys and try not to let them allow their heads to drop. When the second half starts the way it did, it pushes the whole team on."
Emil Forsberg:
- "The first half didn’t go well because we didn’t perform. But we applied pressure after half time and brought the game under our control and scored some nice goals.
The substitutes did a fantastic job. It's always important that the players bring passion and mentality when coming off the bench. I'm also happy for Hugo and his goal with his first touch. In the end it was a perfect evening."
