Christopher Nkunku is Player of the Season for 2021/22! After being awarded the Bundesliga’s EA Sports Player of the Month award four times, he’s now been awarded the accolade for the best player of the season. Congratulations!
In 34 appearances in the Bundesliga, Christo scored 20 goals and recorded 15 assists. That puts him in fourth place in the top scorer list behind Robert Lewandowski (35 goals), Patrik Schick (24) and Erling Haaland (22), and third in the top assists rankings, behind Thomas Müller (21 assists) and Marco Reus (17).

Christo won the Player of the Month award on four occasions (October, February, March and April) – something never done before in the Bundesliga. Three consecutive awards is also another milestone that only the Frenchman has achieved.
Across all competitions, Nkunku is among the most dangerous forwards in Europe with 54 goal involvements in 51 games. That figure sees Nkunku set a club record, surpassing Timo Werner’s 47 involvements.
The highlights don’t stop there. On a personal note, Christo was able to make a lifelong dream a reality in March, when he received his first-ever call up to the France national team. After making his debut for his country, he now has two caps to his name.
