Haidara joins RBL’s "100 Club"

Welcome to the 100 club! After coming off the bench in the home game against Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Amadou Haidara made his 100th competitive appearance for RB Leipzig.

"Doudou" is the 21st RBL player to join the 100 club at RB Leipzig.

Amadou Haidara has gone on a bit of a journey to get to where he is today. The 23-year-old has fought his way to the Bundesliga from the streets of Bamako, the capital of Mali, where he first kicked a ball.

“Football is my life,” said Amadou Haidara, and you can see that he enjoys every training session and every match. The midfielder is one of those players that give everything to win the ball back and generate opportunities to attack.

The Mali international (24 caps, 2 goals) impresses with his energy and is also dangerous in front of goal. Our number 8 has scored 10 goals and created a further six in his 100 games for the club.

Interesingly, Amadou Haidara has scored in all three competitions he's featured in:

Incredibly, 11 of the 21 players to have featured 100 times for RB Leipzig are still part of the current squad, including the three players with the most appearances: Emil Forsberg (233 games), Péter Gulácsi (242) and Yussuf Poulsen (308). 

Eight more players are still playing professionally, just not at Leipzig. Among them are Marcel Sabitzer, who moved to FC Bayern München in the summer, who is fourth on the list with 229 appearances, and Diego Demme, who now plies his trade with SSC Napoli (214).

Tim Sebastian is the only player on the list who has retired (in 2017). He rejoined the club to strengthen our sports psychology team at the start of November 2021. He is currently ranked in 16th, though Nordi Mukiele will soon overtake him as they are on the same number of apperances (125).
