RBL match Manchester City, but Haaland makes the difference

We had the better chances in the first half, with Antonio Nusa, David Raum and Christoph Baumgartner all going close to giving us the lead. Instead, it was the visitors who struck shortly before the break, as Castello Lukeba unfortunately turned the ball into his own net while attempting to clear.

We continued to match City after the restart, with the Red Bulls coming close to turning the game on its head during a thrilling 15-minute spell. Ridle Baku’s clever finish brought us level at 1-1 and sparked wild celebrations inside the Red Bull Arena. The chances were now coming thick and fast, but Ezechiel Banzuzi could only find the side-netting, while Ridle was denied by Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Then, right in the middle of our best spell, City struck again. After we failed to deal with a cross, Enzo Fernández took full advantage to restore the visitors’ lead. But RBL hit straight back, with the in-form Antonio Nusa making it 2-2. Unfortunately, there was still time for Erling Haaland to have the final say. The Norwegian clearly enjoys facing us, with his winner taking his tally against RBL to an astonishing 13 goals.
