“We were rewarded for our efforts” | Reaction to RB Leipzig’s away win

Marco Rose:

• "As expected, it was a tough game - as it always is in Heidenheim. In the first half, both sides struggled for chances. You still have to be alert, though, in order to avoid getting hit on the break and be solid at the back. We set up really well and made a good start to the second half. It looked like we took the lead, but we kept our foot on the gas and then finally opened the scoring. 
  
  We had chances to make it 2-0 after that. It was clear that Heidenheim were going to get forward and pile on the pressure. We managed to fend them off well, though. Full credit to my team. At the end of the day, we really had to work for it. Heidenheim put us under the cosh, and we had to give it our all to keep a clean sheet. Pete Gulacsi had to make a couple of saves.
  
  We were rewarded for our efforts today. It makes me really happy."

Willi Orban:

• "We're happy that we won. We worked hard for it and we deserved to win. After a hard double gameweek, we're more than happy to take the three points back to Leipzig. We knew that we'd have to suffer for a result today, and we did exactly that. It was intense and we ran our socks off. It was a really good team performance today.
  
  Peter Gulacsi is a great keeper. We rely on him a lot. He affords us a lot of stability. We're happy that we've kept five clean sheets in six league games."

Lois Openda:

• "I'm happy that I managed to keep up my streak of scoring against Heidenheim in my third game against them. It was a tough game, though. Heidenheim are a tricky team to play against. To be honest, today's match was one of the hardest I've played in a while. That being said, we played really well and defended solidly as a unit. The most important thing is that we're taking three points back home. It really matters to us.
  
  It goes without saying that it's a nice feeling to score again. Antonio Nusa did really well for the assist. The fact that we won while keeping a clean sheet today is much more important, though. The kisses I blew for my celebration were for my wife and son who were at the stadium today."

David Raum:

• "It's good to keep another clean sheet. Unfortunately, we've not managed to do that in the Champions League recently. We knew that we were in for a hard match today and that we would have to fight. We did just that and will take the away win back to Leipzig with us. If you want to win games like that, pure quality sometimes isn't enough. You also have to show mentality and desire on the pitch, which we did today. I'm just proud of the lads.
  
  There's always pressure. We're RB leipzig. We're a top team with big dreams. That means that you have to go to Heidenheim and win. We managed to get over the line today. We're going into the international break with the wind in our sails."
