David Raum and Assan Ouédraogo (Germany)

David Raum has earned his second World Cup call-up after 2022 thanks to a string of strong performances. Our captain has long since established himself as an important player in Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann’s side. "This call-up is something really special for me. The little boy in me, who used to pretend he was playing at a World Cup in the park, now gets to take part in another World Cup. I’m massively excited," stated the 28-year-old.

Just over a week before Germany begin their World Cup campaign against Curaçao, Raumi now knows he will have another Leipzig teammate for company during the tournament in the USA, Mexico and Canada. Following Lennart Karl’s injury, Assan Ouédraogo has been called up to the squad. “It is a huge honour and makes me very proud to represent Germany at the World Cup,” said our midfielder as he looks ahead to his first tournament with the senior national team.
