RB Leipzig Part Ways with Christopher Lenz

Rouven Schröder: "He embraced his role phenomenally and boosted competition"

Thanks, Chris!

Christopher Lenz will be leaving RB Leipzig at the end of the 2023/24 season. The Berlin-born footballer played in eight matches for the Red Bulls during the past season.

The defender moved from Eintracht Frankfurt to Leipzig in summer 2023, making his debut on Matchday 4, a 3-0 home win against FC Augsburg

The defenseman took over an important role under head coach Marco Rose and, along with German international David Raum, formed the left-side defense for the 2022 and 2023 DFB Cup titles.

Thank you for your contribution, Chris - all the best for the future!

  • "Christopher Lenz put himself at the service of the team during his year at RB Leipzig. We brought him last year as backup for the left-back position and he was able to tackle on this role phenomenally, always boosting competition.

He absolutely has the quality to play in a starting role for a team in the Bundesliga and we wish him all the best for his next stop in professional football."
