Champions League: RB Leipzig to Start the League Phase in Madrid

It's going to be a sensational football fest!

The champion tournament of club football is back! And our UEFA Champions League opponents have been sorted. The new League Phase, which replaces the Group Stage, gave us the following eight rivals:

• "We were excited to follow the draw for the league phase. Our fans can look forward to four great home games. We also have attractive away fixtures ahead of us. I was particularly pleased with the draw against Celtic Glasgow. We are very ambitious, have high expectations of ourselves and want to make headlines in this competition.
  
  I have been around the Bundesliga for over 20 years, but when you get to play in the Champions League with your club, this feeling has no comparison. The team, the club, the employees and German football can look forward to exceptional teams that are also fighting for their objectives.
  
  In Liverpool, Juve, Sporting and Aston Villa, we have really been given four interesting draws for our home games. We just signed Arthur Vermeeren from Atletico Madrid, and he will now be meeting his old teammates again. There's a great atmosphere at Atletico's stadium and it will be a fought-out duel. We are also looking forward to Sturm Graz, who are back in the competition for the first time in a long time. They won the double in Austria, so they are also an exciting opponent."

• "We're looking forward to an exciting new Champions League format with many very interesting opponents. The home games against Liverpool and Juventus will be real highlights for our fans and the whole city.
  
  But the away games in Milan, Glasgow and Madrid are also absolutely worth the trip. After the four Euro 2024 games in the summer, a proper football festival awaits all Leipzig residents again!
  
  Our ambition remains intact and we want to do better than in the previous season. This includes qualifying for the Round of 16 and then reaching our full potential. Once we do that, a lot more wil be possible for us."
