Moving back to Spain!

Hugo Novoa finishes a five-year cycle as an RB Leipzig player and is moving to LaLiga club, Deportivo Alavés.

The 21 year-old arrived in the summer of 2019 from the Deportivo La Coruña's youth division and joined the Red Bulls' Youth Development Academy. On October 23, 2021, the attacking player made his professional debut against SpVgg Greuther Fürth. The Under-21 player scored only three minutes after being subbed in to add the final goal in the 4-1 win, making him the then youngest RBL scorer in the Bundesliga.

In the first half of the 2022/23 season, Hugo Novoa was used by RBL manager Domenico Tedesco as an all-wide player, also accumulating valuable playing time at FC Basel (17 matches | 1 goal | 3 assists) during the second half of the season.

After a six-month loan in the Netherlands with FC Utrecht (6 matches played), Hugo Novoa spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Villarreal, where he played for the Yellow Submarine's B-Team in the Spanish third tier (11 matches played| 2 assists).
