- "Mo" Simakan scored his first goal of the season and the second UCL goal of his career. He also bagged RBL’s first Champions League goal of the season back in 2022. It was the fifth time our number 2 has scored for the club and the 15th goal he’s been involved in as an RBL player.
- It was also Xaver Schlager's first goal of the season and his first in Europe’s premier club competition.
- Benjamin Šeško netted his third goal for RBL, having scored a brace against Union in the Bundesliga. It was also the first time he’s scored in the Champions League.
- The 3-1 win means that Leipzig’s all-time UCL goal tally is now 69.
Assist facts
- David Raum put in the corner that Mo Simakan headed in, earning him his third assist of the season, with the other two coming in the Bundesliga.
- Kevin Kampl provided the assist for Xaver Schlager’s goal – his first of the season.
- Benjamin Henrichs superbly set up the goal that made it 3-1 – he’s now assisted a goal in the Supercup, the Bundesliga, and the Champions League this term.
