RB Leipzig beat Wroclaw 4-2 in friendly
Eight youth players make appearances | Brace for Fabio Carvalho | Timo Werner scores RBL’s fourth goal
A successful outing!
During the first international break of the season, the remaining RBL players had a friendly against Polish first-division side Slask Wroclaw, which eight of our youth players were involved in.
- In the 17th minute, Fabio Carvalho volleyed in from close range to make the score 1-0. It only took four minutes for the team who currently occupy third place in the Ekstraklasa to equalise though a Kenneth Zohoré free kick, leaving Leopold Zingerle with no chance. In the 37th minute, U19s player Jakob Sachse headed home powerfully following a beautiful cross from David Raum to give RBL the lead going into the break.
- In the second half, Fabio Carvalho finished wonderfully for his second of the game (57’). Timo Werner got our fourth goal of the game in the 65th minute, shaking off his defender and carefully slotting the ball into the bottom left corner. The visitors scored from the penalty spot in the 82nd minute to make the final score 4-2.
