Marco Rose
- "We sat off a little too much after taking the lead so early on and allowed our opponents to grow into the game. They deserved to be level at the break, even though we hadn't allowed them many chances. We were more on it in the second half; we always had players arriving in support and scored some great goals, so we deserved to get the win..
It's good that the boys were angry at themselves at the break - their coach was angry too. There wasn't lots of shouting though. We addressed things matter-of-factly. It wasn't a problem with our structure, it's just that we were up against a very good side. We only changed a couple of small things. It was more about going the extra yard, and that's something we did a lot better after the change of ends.
I've been very happy with how we've dealt with setbacks in recent weeks. We're missing some key players, but we still defend our goal resolutely and deliver at the other end at the right moments. It really demonstrates the quality of this team!"
Xavi Simons
- "We knew that it would be a difficult game. We had an energetic start, but we dropped off as the game went on. We talked about that at half time and improved after the break. I think that I should have had a penalty, but the referee decided against it. We just carried on playing our game and got the win that we deserved.
I'm really enjoying my football in Leipzig with my teammates. I want to help the team achieve important goals. That's what I'm here for."
Xaver Schlager
- "We started really well and got the opener early. We lost our rhythm a little after that though and became too passive. Young Boys really pressed us hard and worked the ball around nicely. We deserved to be pegged back at 1-1 and weren't happy at the break.
We came out for the second half with a lot more energy and attacked with purpose. We kept a cool head and were rewarded for that.
I thought that the goalkeeper would probably be able to save my shot and we could follow it in, so it was even better to find the back of the net. I caught it really well. It doesn't matter who gets the goals though. The main things it that we get the win."
