Marco Rose

  • "I'm happy that we're continuing together. I'm from here and feel at home in the city and the region. It's a lot of fun with my boys, with the staff, with all the employees in the club and of course with our fans.

Since arriving at RB Leipzig, we managed to successfully defend our DFB-Pokal title and lifted the Supercup. Behind the scenes, the club is working hard to make sure that we once again have the best-possible squad at our disposal. We know that we can achieve more and that we want more. We are ambitious and will remain so, all while keeping our focus on what lies ahead.”

Rouven Schröder, Sporting Director RB Leipzig

  • "We are very happy about the contract extension with Marco! Our discussions in the past few weeks were characterized by mutual appreciation and, above all, a transparent analysis of the past season. For us, sporting success and our shared ambitions are above all else.

As a result, both parties were soon in agreement that we wanted to continue on this successful path together, and the negotiations that took place over the last few days were completed in a professional and focused manner. Having been able to provide ourselves with clarity with regards to our head coach at this point in time already will also help us with other important personnel-related matters.”

Johann Plenge, Managing Director RB Leipzig

  • "At RB Leipzig, it has always been our aim to consistently develop hungry top talents game after game and season after season. Marco embodies this claim and at the same time wants unconditional sporting success. In addition, he is an important ambassador for our club and lives the connection to the city, the region and our fans.

We have celebrated many successes together over the last two years, won titles and qualified for the Champions League. Marco has played a decisive role in this and we would like to continue to tackle our ambitious goals with him in the future!"

RB Leipzig and Marco Rose – A Success Story

Marco Rose has taken charge of 86 competitive matches with the club since being appointed on 8th September 2022, winning 53 of these games. His average of 2.01 points per game is the best return of any head coach in RBL’s Bundesliga history.

The Leipzig native was able to record his 50th victory in his 80th game across all competitions with the side (4-1 win vs. Freiburg on 6th April 2024), reaching this milestone earlier than any other RBL head coach.

After leading RBL to the DFB-Pokal title and a Champions League spot in his first season with the club, Marco Rose and his coaching staff have continued to develop their squad over the course of their second campaign together.

In August 2023, Rose’s men won the German Supercup by romping to a 3-0 victory over Bayern Munich, before going on to finish fourth in the Bundesliga to secure a place in Europe’s premier club competition for the seventh time in the club’s history. The former defender will now be hoping for further success in his third season with RBL.

We can’t wait to see what else the future holds together with you, Marco!
