  • Lois, after a strong season in France, you made the choice to move to RB Leipzig. How did this decision come about?

I had a great season last season in Ligue 1. We had a good campaign with Lens and I managed to score a lot of goals. RB Leipzig is a top club in one of the best leagues in the world so I didn’t need much time when the club management showed their interest. I want to reach a new level here in Leipzig and in doing so, help the club to achieve its goals. I’m very happy that the move came about.

  • Your first week involved heading to South Tyrol for a training camp. How did you first few days with the team feel?

The first few days were good. The training camp was fun, even though it was really intense. It was perfect to allow me to meet all the players and staff. I feel comfortable in the group and feel like I’ve settled in well.

  • 21 goals in 38 Ligue 1 games last season speak for themselves. However, we’re still going to ask: what are your strengths?

It’s difficult to speak about your own strengths. However, I’d say that my speed, shooting and power are among my strengths. The way we approach games is very important. My goal is to always give 100% to use my strengths to help the team win.

  • After the Belgian Pro League, the Dutch Eredivisie and the Franch Ligue 1, you’re about to play in your fourth European top flight in the Bundesliga. What are your impressions of the league?

I’m really looking forward to the Bundesliga. The standard is very high and there are a lot of strong teams with great fans. The stdiums are great with fantastic atmospheres. I’m really motivated and I’m already looking forward to the first game against Bayern in the Supercup.

  • How do you spend your free time? What do you like to do off the pitch?

I like spending my free time outside with my girlfriend and our dog. I try to use that time to recover, clear my head and simply not be thinking of football all the time.
