3-1 friendly win over Southampton
Successful end to Austria training camp | Angelino opens the scoring in the second half (54')| Adam Armstrong's equaliser cancelled out by Forsberg (67') | Moriba's wonder goal from 30 yards wraps up victory (90')
A winning start to preseason! Saturday's friendly against Southampton to round off the Red Bulls' training camp in Austria ended in a deserved 3-1 win thanks to a strong second-half performance. Angelino opened the scoring in the 54th minute of the reunion with former RBL head coach Ralph Hasenhüttl with a sumptuous free-kick.
Around ten minutes later, things were levelled back up by Adam Armstrong, but parity didn't last very long as our Super Swede Emil Forsberg fired the ball into the bottom corner following a ball from Dani Olmo.
The teams agreed to play a total of 105 minutes ahead of the game in order to give all the players sufficient game time. Ilaix Moriba certainly kept us wanting more with his goal in the 90th minute, burying an unstoppable strike from 30 yards!
The final score remained 3-1 to Domenico Tedesco's side, however, who can be happy with a winning end to their intensive week of training.
