RB Leipzig won 2-1 away at SV Werder Bremen on matchday 15. Marco Rose’s team began well and deservedly took the lead through André Silva, who converted following a nice ball through by Emil Forsberg (13’).
The hosts grew into the game after conceding and had decent opportunities in the first half. Niclas Füllkrug (22’) and Leonardo Bittencourt (41’) were both denied by the impressive Janis Blaswich in the Leipzig goal.
Werder got back on level terms after the break thanks to a deflected strike from Christian Groß (57’), but Xaver Schlager responded to win the game for Leipzig (71’).

13TH MINUTE, GOAAAAL for RBL!
An early lead for Leipzig. Forsberg plays a nice ball through to Silva in the box. He takes it first time and buries it in the far corner for 1-0.
Friedl clears the ball away as Nkunku tries to square it for Silva. That would’ve been a great chance for 2-0!
A first big chance for Werder. Blaswich makes an important save from Füllkrug’s effort from close range from a free-kick.
Bremen are attacking more in search of an equaliser. As a result, the game is more open. Orbán is on his toes to sniff out Bittencourt’s pass for Ducksch.
Henrichs delivers a cross towards the near post, Nkunku gets on the end of it but his shot goes wide.
Jung volleys towards goal in the box, the ball is deflected by Henrichs and Blaswich does well to easily hold on.
Werder continue to have a go. Gvardiol clears Jung’s low cross, then Blaswich parries Bittencourt’s powerful shot away from goal.
Leipzig take a 1-0 lead into the break.

The first shot of the second half is by Szoboszlai on the edge of the box, but it’s blocked for a corner.
A good chance for Leipzig! Henrichs finds Szoboszlai in the box, he then passes to Nkunku. He pulls the trigger right away, but his shot goes past the near post.
57TH MINUTE, GOAL FOR BREMEN:
Werder equalise. Groß receives the ball from a throw-in and then shoots from the edge of the box. His curling effort takes a deflection off Orbán on the way through and sails into the far corner, leaving Blaswich with no chance.
Just like in the first half, Werder are growing into the game more as the half goes on. This time around though, they have taken their chance to score.
A free-kick right in Christo territory. The French attacker skies it well over the bar.
71ST MINUTE, GOAAAAL FOR RBL:
Get in! Leipzig lead again! Silva sensationally flicks it on for Schlager with the outside of his boot. The Austrian fends off Pieper and slots it past Pavlenka!
Szoboszlai is denied by Pavlenka, Silva puts the rebound wide.
Friedl’s cross is headed towards goal by Füllkrug, Blaswich easily gets down to hold on.
Werder probiert es noch einmal, Gvardiol befördert den Ball per Kopf zurück zum eigenen Torwart und sorgt damit für Ruhe.
Nkunku is in a similar position to before after receiving the ball from Henrichs. He gets a shot away and it goes wide. Despite it looking there was a deflection, there’s no corner.
Werder are throwing everyone forward in search of an equaliser.
Blaswich again collects a header from Füllkrug. Keep it tight, lads!
