"We deserved more!"
RB head coach Marco Rose and players David Raum and Emil Forsberg react to the 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League
Marco Rose:
- It was an intense game, in which we didn't get our reward for a good performance. I think we deserved more! We played really well for large parts. We won possession a lot and were compact. However, you have to play well for 90 minutes against Real. We gave Valverde too much space for his goal and at this level you'll get punished for that."
David Raum:
- "We picked up where we left off in the Bundesliga and it was an even game for a long time. We definitely could have got something if we'd taken a chance in the first half. We all gave our all and pushed each other. It's not easy playing in front of a crowd like that. I'm proud of the team. We're ultimately just disappointed to be going home with no points.
I couldn't stop smiling when the anthem was on. I was playing in the second division just two years ago and now I've started against Real Madrid. This was a dream come true for me."
Emil Forsberg:
- "We said before the game that Real Madrid have the patience needed to win games late on and that's just what they did. We did well, got stuck in and controlled large parts of the game. It's gutting to lose 2-0, but we will take the positives from tonight. We haven't had many training sessions with our new coach, however we have done a lot of what he wants already. We had a good plan, but unfortunately it wasn't enough for any points.
We've now lost our first two games, which is obviously not how we wanted to begin. We've still got a few games to go though."
