Match summary

First half:

The two weeks of intense training paid off early on. RBL started the game well and controlled the game from the beginning, taking the lead in the 8th minute. Marcel Halstenberg finished from close range after a great cross from Dominik Szoboszlai. Just four minutes later, Dani Olmo and Emil Forsberg linked up in a move that saw the Swedish number 10 double the lead. The visitor from Czechia rarely threatened at the other end and Marco Rose’s side went into the break with a two-goal lead.

Second half:

Marco Rose made a number of changes to the team for the second half, introducing eight new players. Simakan, Orbán, Haidara, Poulsen, Werner, Ba, Diallo and Kampl all came on, before youth team players Jonas Nickisch, Aris Bayindir and Yannick Eduardo were brought on for the final quarter.

André Silva scored the third goal in the 54th minute with a nice chip from a few metres out. The fourth goal then came courtesy of Timo Werner on his return from injury. In the 73rd minute, our number 11 turned home from close range after some great work from Mohamed Simakan.
