"The whole team played well"
Head coach Marco Rose and players André Silva, Xaver Schlager, Dominik Szoboszlai and Jonas Blaswich react to RB Leipzig's 3-1 win over Celtic in the Champions League.
Marco Rose
- "I’m very pleased because we did well for long phases of the game against a goof opposition. There was a high level of intensity, and it was a hectic game at some stages. As we gave them a lot to do, I think we deserved the win. It was a really good performance from us overall and picking up our second consecutive win can hopefully give us momentum into the upcoming weeks. We know that it will be a lively contest next week in Glasgow."
André Silva:
- "The whole team played well and we all covered a lot of ground. We wanted to get back into the game quickly after their equaliser and we did that well. We were compact, deserved our goals and the victory.
The win today was a relief for us. I always try to do my best and help the team."
Xaver Schlager:
- "When you have 0 points after the first two games, you have to win the next one. We wanted to be more intense than Celtic and managed that. We played well, got the three points and are really happy."
Dominik Szoboszlai:
- "I’m very happy; it was a difficult game. We expected them to fight and run a lot and that they’d come out similarly to how we would. But we did better today.
I was a bit annoyed that my goal didn’t count but above all, I’m happy that we got the three points. Now we’re looking forward to the next game in the Bundesliga as well as the reverse fixture in Glasgow."
Jonas Blaswich:
- "A backup keeper must be ready to come on at any moment of the game. I wish Pete all the best and hope that it's not a bad injury. The fans' reaction to him going off was very strong.
It was important that we played well and got our first three points. We’re approaching a very intense phase with a lot of games. Our workload is of course very high, but we’re prepared for it."
