RBL defeat Borussia Dortmund 3-0
Willi Orban and Dominik Szoboszlai with first-half goals | Amadou Haidara rounds off the win late on | Victory in Marco Rose’s first game
Head coach Marco Rose had a debut to remember as RB Leipzig defeated Borussia Dortmund 3-0 on matchday 6 of the Bundesliga. Willi Orban opened the scoring in the 6th minute when he headed home a Dominik Szoboszlai corner. RBL were the more dominant side for the rest of the first half, with BVB finding chances hard to come by. Szoboszlai doubled the lead on the stroke of half time, powering a shot into the top corner from outside the area (45’).
The second half was an even affair with opportunities at both ends. Despite a number of chances to extend the lead, the Leipzig were held to just a two-goal advantage for much of the second half, until substitute Amadou Haidara put the icing on the cake in the 84th minute, tapping into an open goal after a square ball from Timo Werner.
Three goals and three points for Marco Rose and RB Leipzig! Next up is a trip to take on Spanish giants Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
