Marco Rose: “We achieved a lot"
After ten days of hard work in Abu Dhabi, it’s time for the Red Bulls to return back to Leipzig.
Head coach Marco Rose gave his thoughts on the winter training camp and looked ahead to the upcoming kick-off to 2023 with the game against Bayern Munich.
Marco Rose on…
…his side’s performance:
“That magic number of nine days has been reached. We did some very good things at the training camp. We mapped out a lot of what we wanted and ended up playing another 120 minutes. All in all, we achieved a good workload – we didn’t want to run the lads into the ground completely. It’s definitely the right time to head home now.”
…the friendlies:
“We had a good first half against Eintracht Frankfurt, but then we lost a bit of substance in the second. But we were able to get that workload back with another two 45 minutes.
Massive respect to our second opponents Atletico Arabia FC, who played very fairly over the 120 minutes. The most important thing for us was to travel back to Leipzig with all the boys healthy. The boys got 60 minutes each and we scored some goals in the process.”
Timo worked very hard and is ready to get stuck in again
…the game against Bayern Munich:
“Our task is now to find our way back into that form that we were in during the first half of the season. That’s no easy feat. However, we’re playing against Bayern Munich at home in the Topspiel and are extremely motivated. We don’t care as much about who is missing.
We will try to give everything we’ve got with the players that we have in order to get back on that road to success as quickly as possible. We also have to keep our nerve in those more difficult moments, however, the base line is there and I’m very positive about that.”
