"We'll show a different side of us against Bayern"
Klosti speaks to the media after the open training session on Monday | The defender discusses the Supercup, the friendly vs. Liverpool and preparations for the season
Lukas Klostermann on ...
… the mood in the team and team spirit
“We first needed to brush ourselves off after the game against Liverpool. We’ve intensively analysed what didn’t go well. This week we are going to work to make sure that it goes much better against Bayern.
The squad hasn't changed that much and we’ve kept a good basic structure to the team. We showed Our team spirit, mentality and togetherness in the DFB-Pokal final was particularly special, and these were important factors in winning the game. I am absolutely confident that will continue in the coming season.”
… the upcoming clash against Bayern München
"We know what we did wrong in the friendly against Liverpool and that some of the goals came from our mistakes. The most important thing is that we know what we need to work on. We’ve been doing that this week, and I’m confident that we will show a completely different side of us against Bayern.
It doesn’t matter to us how much other teams have added to their squads. I know that we have a brilliant group of players and now we need to show that on the pitch.”
… the Supercup
“It’s a trophy that we absolutely want to win. We worked really hard last season and have given ourselves the chance of winning another trophy in this game. You can look at the Supercup a little bit like the icing on the cake of the DFB-Pokal win, so we want to give our all in the game and come out on top.”
… Competition for starting places
“Pre-season is always a fight for places and everyone gives it everything. That’s the way it has been in recent weeks and it’s not going to change now.
The most important thing is that we have the strongest line-up out on the pitch."
…Pre-season and new arrival Xaver Schlager
“The strong second half of last season’s campaign meant there was no need for wholesale changes within the squad. I’m very convinced that we’ve added a player who fits really well to our team in Xaver, so I’m very optimistic for the upcoming season."
