"We want to take this momentum with us!"
Emil Forsberg, Domenico Tedesco and Marcel Halstenberg on the 6-1 win over Greuther Fürth
The Red Bulls are continuing their red-hot 2022 form. The 6-1 victory against SpVgg. Greuther Fürth was the seventh win of the second half of the season.
Here's what Emil Forsberg, Domenico Tedesco and Marcel Halstenberg had to say on the game...
Emil Forsberg:
"We played well, even though we went 1-0 down. We got the equaliser quickly and continued to find the right solutions in possession and scored some nice goals.
Fürth hadn't lost in six home games, so a big win here wasn't a given. But everyone in the team is focused, gives 100% in training and we have a clear plan.
We've developed a good run of form and it's great fun to be out there playing with the boys. We're playing some nice football and that gives us confidence, especially for the tough games that are ahead of us. We want to take this momentum with us."
Domenico Tedesco:
"The team carried out our plan closely. It was important that we turned it around quickly after going behind early on. If not, it could have become a tricky game. Fürth were courageous and always posed a counter-attacking threat.
We had to have a good defensive structure in possession and we did that well. Our switches were quick and often and consistently found our full backs.
That allowed us to get into their area a lot and make a lot of deep attacks and score nice goals, even if there could definitely have been one or two more. We trained set pieces during the week, which worked today and lead to goals. We also won the second balls and penned Fürth in."
Marcel Halstenberg:
"It’s a really nice feeling for me personally to be back on the pitch in the Bundesliga. We wanted to approach the game professionally from the first minute, which became even more important after going behind in the fourth minute. But we reacted quickly and in the end came out with a highly-deserved win.
We were in for a tough challenge and came through it very well, so we can be very pleased. Our aim tis the Champions League and we have the quality to achieve that. That’s the reason we are where we are in the table.
I definitely couldn’t manage 90 minutes yet, but today was 30 and I’m getting there more and more. Today was simply a lot of fun yet again."
