RB Leipzig, Volkswagen and Porsche extend partnership!
Cooperation extended by three years to 2024 | E-mobility, social commitment and youth promotion are the core focus of the partnership
The successful partnership between RB Leipzig, Volkswagen and Porsche has been extended. The cooperation agreement, which has been in place since 2014, will run for a further three years until 30th June 2024.
Volkswagen will thus remain the "Official Mobility Partner" and Porsche the "Strategic Youth Partner" of Die Roten Bullen. The cooperation with Volkswagen will also focus more strongly on the topic of electromobility (e-mobility) in the future.
Porsche's partnership at its production site in Saxony focuses primarily on social commitment. The sports car manufacturer and RB Leipzig are focusing on youth development under the motto "Turbo for Talent". Both partners have set themselves the goal of getting children and young people excited about team sports, making it easier for children from socially disadvantaged families to get involved in club sports and providing targeted support for talented young footballers. In addition to sporting support, the focus is also on the personal development of young talent. Accordingly, Porsche will continue to be present as a sleeve partner on the jerseys of the RBL youth teams from the U15s to the U19s.
The jointly initiated projects include the "Leipzig Quarter Finals", an annual youth tournament. In addition, Porsche crowns the club's best youth team as the "Porsche Talent Team" each year. The idea of inclusion and integration is also incorporated into the projects - for example, as part of the inclusive football school.
Holger B. Santel,
Head of sales and marketing for Volkswagen Germany:
"The sporting development that RB Leipzig has achieved since the start of our partnership in 2014 is impressive. We are all the more pleased that we will be able to accompany the club on its further path as a mobility partner over the next three years. Like RB, we have also set ourselves ambitious goals for this period: Volkswagen Automobile Leipzig will gradually electrify the Bundesliga football club's vehicle fleet. This will be another step on our 'way to zero'. By the 2023/24 season at the latest, players and coaches will be travelling exclusively in fully or partially electric Volkswagens."
Gerd Rupp,
Chairman of the managing board of Porsche Leipzig GmbH:
"Porsche and sport have a lot in common. Sport is firmly anchored in the Porsche DNA. Values such as team spirit, determination and stamina are just as important in car manufacturing as they are for a successful career in football. That's why we are passionately committed to young talent - both in terms of sporting achievements and the maturing of personalities."
Oliver Mintzlaff,
Chairman of the managing board of RB Leipzig:
"For seven years now, our partnership with Volkswagen and Porsche has been characterised by great appreciation, constructive cooperation and many great projects together. Naturally, it was our ambition to continue the partnership. We are very pleased to have these strong partners at our side for the next three years, so that we can continue to work together on important issues such as training young people, mobility and sustainability."
