Germany will host the European Championship in 2024, with Leipzig having been selected as one of 10 host cities. This week, the logo for the tournament was officially projected onto the front of the Leipzig Opera at Augustusplatz. The tournament motto is 'United by Football. Vereint im Herzen Europas.' RBL club ambassador Perry Bräutigam attended the ceremony.
EURO 2024 will take place from 14th June to 14th July, as Germany will host the tournament for the second time since 1988. 24 countries will compete in the tournament, with a total of 51 matches being hosted across the 10 host cities. Up to five games will take place at the Red Bull Arena. The tournament's international media centre will also be located in Leipzig.
We will be a great host!
RBL club ambassador Perry Bräutigam:
- "Leipzig has been a sports city ever since I was young, which is also my connection to the city. We are able to play here as RB Leipzig, which we are grateful for. As a footballer whose career spanned two decades, the opportunity to experience a European Championship here is fantastic. We will be a great host and will make sure that everyone feels welcome here."
