Whilst most of the RBL squad now have a two-week break from competitive action, Tyler Adams joined up with his national side straight after matchday 20's 2-0 win over VfL Wolfsburg. The USA will be playing three times in their quest to be at the World Cup later this year.
How things look in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying:
CANADA 2-0 USA
On Sunday night, the two top teams in CONCACAF qualifying faced off, with the USA falling to Canada. Tyler Adams' side conceded an early goal before Canada added another in second-half injury time to seal a 2-0 win against their southern neighbours. Adams was taken off injured in the second half, as Canada moved four points clear at the top of the standings.
Tyler Adams and the USA are one of five teams who still have a realistic chance of qualifying directly for the World Cup finals in Qatar. Canada, Mexico, Panama and Costa Rica are all still fighting alongside the USA for a coveted spot at the World Cup. Three teams will qualify directly, whilst one team will face an inter-confederation playoff tie against the winner of the Oceanian section of qualifying.
The USA currently sit second in the standings. Canada remain top, with Mexico and Panama in third and fourth and Costa Rica in fifth.
