2-1 defeat to Union Berlin
Bundesliga Matchday 34 | RB Leipzig lose after taking the lead in front of 2,000 fans | Justin Kluivert opens scoring (53') | Max Kruse with added time winner
RB Leipzig concede late goal and fall to 2-1 defeat in Berlin. 2,000 fans at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei witnessed a slow start to the game, with few chances at either end. Musa hit the post for Union, while Emil Forsberg and Hee-chan Hwang were each denied by Andreas Luthe in quick succession.
The Bulls brought momentum after the break and substitute Christopher Nkunku had an instant impact. Just moments after coming on, the midfielder slotted in Justin Kluivert, who sided Luthe and finished into the open goal to give RBL the lead. The home side answered through Marvin Friedrich, who volleyed in a corner to equalise (67‘).
A flurry of RBL chances came to nothing, Union keeper Luthe on hand to prevent his side falling behind again on multiple occasions. In added time, Max Kruse found himself in space in the area and put the guests ahead and succumbed the Bulls to a 2-1 defeat.
